Fifty new missionaries every year! That’s the recruitment goal SIM Korea is trusting God for by 2008.
SIM Korea became a sending office of SIM International on 2 October, 2000. Now they’re on an intentional growth track which has brought them to about 100 missionaries currently serving in 17 countries and 20 potential new candidates.
The Church in Korea is famous for praying and for the globalization of its mission efforts. Between 1979 and 2003: 1) Korean missionaries increased from 93 to more than 11,000 serving in 164 countries; 2) Korean mission agencies increased from 21 to at least 163.
SIM Korea shares this commitment to prayer and mission, and continues to build relationships with mission-minded churches.
English Mission Training (EMT) camps and a year-round Mission Training Course help to bring SIM to the attention of Korean Christians who are exploring mission.
The 2004 EMT Camp resulted in 33 commitments for missionary work, with SIM and other missions.
