On 30 July, 2004, the Pregnancy Crisis Centre within the Alfarero project opened. Sucre is statistically recognized as the abortion capital of South America, and it is a problem constantly faced in counselling.

There is now a dedicated Pregnancy Crisis Centre, with a sonogram/ultrasound machine and trained Bolivian doctors and counsellors to help the students suffering in this area.

As a Christian project, the El Alfarero project is against abortion, but feels that it needs to support pregnant women or women who have had abortions.

The Pregnancy Crisis Centre offers all students free pregnancy tests, pre-natal classes, support groups for parents and pregnant women, post-abortion counselling and general pregnancy and abortion education.
