| Steve and Rachel Peat have worked hard with SIM over a number of years to develop ‘Family Focus’, an evangelical, interdenominational non-profit organization. Family Focus has made available: weekly children’s club material, songs and visual aids, evangelistic leaflets, children’s devotional material and ministry workshops and discipleship materials.
To build on what the Peats have achieved, and to more effectively help the local pastor and church members in Arequipa (and many others!) land has been purchased to build a resource centre, library and Christian training facility. This would benefit all the evangelical churches in Arequipa, a city of about 1 million people.
The Peats believe that to adequately develop, produce and distribute Family Focus materials, suitable premises are needed—currently they are working from their home. The new centre will help them provide such things as training opportunities for leaders, marriage retreats, and overnight camps and mission workshops for children.
The perimeter wall for this new centre has recently been put up, thanks to gifts from those who share the Peats’ vision. The next phase is the actual construction of the facility. Please pray that the necessary funding will be received, so that they can move ahead.
