How would you like to be on the cutting edge of training mission leaders? SIM in Burkina Faso is doing just that for the new initiatives in mission movement in Francophone Africa. Leaders from 11 different countries and from many denominations have come to the Institute Missiologique du Sahel for intensive training in missions, anthropology, leadership, and Islam. The IMS is seeking accreditation to offer courses at both BA and MA levels by September 2011.
Teachers at the IMS have a busy schedule of teaching, discipling, and interacting with students. You would specifically help develop a program of spiritual growth and nurture for our students. You will teach a few formal courses on spiritual formation and discipleship but also oversee chapel services, small groups, times of fasting and prayer, and various informal activities leading to the in-depth spiritual growth and character development of our students. You will also be called on to counsel students who are discouraged and encourage all aspects of community life. You may occasionally be asked to teach other courses related to missions and intercultural studies and will be expected to contribute in various ways to the overall vision and direction of the IMS.
