Software Programmer--Open Source Hospital Information Management System

SIM's chief opportunity at the AIC Kijabe Hospital is to "Equip God's People to bring God's Healing to the World." This is done in a variety of ways, including training health care professionals; assisting with ongoing hospital ministry; developing the staff's professional, leadership, and management skills; discipling and mentoring staff and trainees; ministering to patients and their families; and developing appropriate and sustainable ministry administrative systems.

Your ministry (should you decide to accept it) would be to develop new software and improve existing software of AIC Kijabe hospital. You would work with the hospital’s Administrative Deputy to the Medical Director to program a new Kijabe Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) based on an open source platform, develop other software within the hospital to automate manual processes, upgrade and support all in-house software applications, perform database administration for all databases, perform data mining for information that may be used for management, research, and education, participate in training users on the software, and provide guidance towards development of software manuals.
