A lack of affordable Christian literature is one of the greatest problems for the evangelical church in Africa today.
Without literature and study materials, church leaders cannot give their congregations solid teaching. Without solid teaching, the church cannot mature to its God-given potential.
Have a look at this video on the 'Pastors' Library Project', it will give you an idea of what this vital project is trying to achieve. The video is about 8 minutes long.
The Pastors' Book Set project is equipping and encouraging African church leaders by providing them with a study library at an affordable price. For £40, a pastor will receive a study library of over 50 volumes, and a weekend teaching conference to encourage and equip him further.
Pastors in Africa often have secular jobs or farm their own land in addition to having ministry responsibilities. The standard of living is low, so the £40 fee is a significant sacrifice for them. Generous gifts from Christians around the world subsidize the book sets.
After the conference and receiving his books, Pastor Mutoya, from Zambia, said: “This project is one thing that I will live to remember the rest of my life. I have truly been equipped for ministry. God richly bless you, and thank you very much.”
