Life Skills Training Programme, Botswana — 97164

SIM's HOPE for AIDS project and Flying Mission have been working together to put a stop to new HIV and AIDS infections throughout Botswana and the surrounding areas. The 'Life Skills Training Programme' is one of the tools being used; where workshops teach and encourage pre-marital abstinence and faithfulness in marriage.

Life Skills students Workshops also encourage leaders to train participants as teachers and/or to encourage them to join in the 'Life at the CrossRoads' programme, an in-depth 30 lesson programme that helps individuals develop their values and change their behaviour step-by-step.

The 'CrossRoads' programme has been designed to be adapted to different cultural settings. It is a highly interactive curriculum which teaches life skills and character development. Whilst the target audience is 12 to 15 year old students, it has been easily and effectively used with other age groups.
