In 2003 Pastor Sithembiso Dlamini of the Africa Evangelical Church had a vision to start the In-Service Bible Training Course (IBTCO) to meet the need of the Pastor, and Lay Pastor in the surrounding inter-denominations, who have not gone to Bible Colleges to equip them for the work of the effective ministry in their churches. He shared this vision to Mseleni African Evangelical Church (AEC). The church granted him permission to start the classes. In April 2003 Classes started at Mseleni AEC. The course is enabling local Zulu pastors and lay leaders to receive training close to their families and churches.
The IBTCO became the ministry of the Mseleni Africa Evangelical Church affiliated to SIM to serve in the Interdenominational churches at Maputaland. The transforming result is that their church members get the sound teaching of the Word of God, to extend the kingdom of God and to make disciples of all nations.
The strategy is that four days seminars are conducted every month. The students are given reading assignments and practical work to do in three weeks and then come back for more learning, discussion and marking of assignments. A 3 credit units module takes two months. Normally, students take two modules at a time.
