Imagine preparing sermons and imparting biblical teaching without any books. Some Zambian pastors find themselves in this situation. They minister without the resources they need to interpret and apply God's Word.
Equipping Zambian Pastors
SIM wants to send book sets to 7,000 Zambian pastors. The cost to a pastor for a package of 40 books is £45; a single book included in the set could cost as much as £25.
This is a matching funds project. To receive a book set, a pastor must pay £45 to cover half of its cost. This partnership, which is available to pastors of all denominations, will equip Zambian church leaders for evangelism and discipleship.
One pastor who was involved in a similar project in Ghana exclaimed, 'Where will I get £45? But I must, because you are giving me over a year's salary in books.' He is one of the 69,270 pastors who have benefited from SIM's book distributions around the world.
A total of 1,160,000 books will be printed at the New Life Literature press in Sri Lanka to provide the books required for this special project.
