Sports Friends seeks to train and equip churches and church planters to use the powerful platform of sports for intentional church planting, evangelism and discipleship ministries. Church and mission leaders in Thailand and SE Asia are seeking new and creative strategies to relate to their youthful populations.
Sport is a magnet that attracts young people and creates an environment for relationship building which leads to opportunities to share the love and word of God. The relationships built with young people through sport, can also extend into opportunities to reach the family and wider community.
This project covers the costs and activities of Sports Friends in Thailand and SE Asia (such as training, leadership development, sports equipment, Bibles and ministry materials, and other support) as they work with the Thai and SE Asian church, church planters and mission partners to develop an effective and fruitful church-centered sports ministry movement in the region.
Sports Friends' vision and focus is developing ongoing and sustainable sports ministry programmes in Thailand and SE Asia that are fully managed and funded by the local national church.
