Approximately 32% of Kenya’s population is considered Youth who will shape the future of Kenya and the Church. In a survey conducted among the youth in 2016, 80% (most Christians) claimed that their faith was valued above all and yet the responses showed a lack of connection between the Bible and their daily living. For example, half of the participants believed that dishonest methods of making money were not wrong as long you did not end up in jail!
SIM Kenya would like to see the youth become mature disciples of Jesus. Through the Youth Workers Toolkit Project, youth leaders are equipped to be effective disciple-makers. The leaders are invited to attend a two-day interactive conference for training on youth centered topics. At the end, each participant receives a toolkit comprising more than 40 books and DVDs on a wide variety of topics as resources for ministry.
" I am Rev Jacob Chirchir, a Pastor and a Bible college teacher. I am a beneficiary of the Youth Workers Toolkit project which was held last year. I want to pass my appreciation to the organizers of the conference. The books have been so useful to me as a Pastor as well as a Bible College tutor. I have already used a number of the resources over the holiday season to disciple and mentor several youths in the church I pastor. The material was also helpful in training my students for youth ministry and apologetics. It is my prayer that you will continue to equip more pastors with such for the expansion of the kingdom of God. May our Almighty God bless you and all who made this project possible."
- That the pastors and youth leaders receiveing the Youth Workers Toolkit would use the resources well to disciple the youth in their care.
- That Kenyan youth would grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord Jesus.
