Making drinking water safe
Making drinking water safe
Both the Wodaabe and the Tamajaq people of Niger depend on watering holes.
The hole at Waten is usually the last to dry up in the dry season. People and animals alike trample the area, so it’s no wonder that the water is contaminated.
Last rainy season, SIMers Steve and Nancy Brown made curved bricks for a new, safe well. Following months of prayer, the government has now given permission for two new wells to be dug.
In the past, resistance to the gospel among these people has been intense. Thanks to the new wells, life-giving water is beginning to open hearts to the Water of Life.
