A holiday?

Joining a team is not a tourist trip. It may be one of the most demanding experiences of your life. It may also be one of the most rewarding.

Whether your team is travelling around visiting various ministries, or based in one place focusing on a specific project, it will mean late nights, early mornings, dirt roads, local food and basic accommodation — with no guarantee of running water or electricity.

You'll learn to:

• rely more on God
• pray powerfully
• work as part of a team
• be an encourager
• appreciate a different culture

. . . and, on your return, you'll learn how to take these experiences and develop as a world Christian.

The programme

Being part of an SIM team in Asia, Africa or South America is certainly eye-opening and often heart-changing. We offer tailor-made opportunities for you and a team from your church or CU to get first-hand experience of overseas mission. The team has the chance to visit and pray for different projects and people, or can put their skills and energy to a specific use, such as running a children's holiday Bible club, reaching out to students who want to learn English, or helping on a building project.

Trips last between two and four weeks. We offer an orientation programme for your team and an opportunity to reflect on your experience afterwards during a debriefing at SIM headquarters or a venue of your choice.

Team members need to raise their own support, so the adventure begins before the plane leaves! A typical place costs between £1000 and £1800 (including all travel, accommodation, food, etc) depending on destination and duration of the trip.
