Major religions include Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. The church is small and struggling in many places and needs tremendous support as it copes with persecution and poverty. Evangelism and church planting often move slowly — perseverance and dedication are required.

SIM personnel are training new leaders and preparing them to share the good news with the communities around them. Through many development projects, they are helping people improve their situation.
