Serving In Mission’s Nigeria team have a project to help rebuild shattered churches, both spiritually and physically, in the north east of the country.
Churches across the area were destroyed by Boko Haram at the end of last year and are now in desperate need of physical and spiritual healing.
After much thought and prayer, the SIM Nigeria leadership has decided to help support 12 pastors who are returning to their churches.
These pastors are normally paid by their congregations but many Christians were displaced by the fighting. Even those who have been able to return are facing a desperate struggle to survive.
SIM Nigeria has now agreed to provide food for the pastors and their families, while the Evangelical Church of West Africa will pay part of their salary. The hope is that these ministers will then be free to offer their returning congregations proper pastoral care.
SIM Nigeria has agreed to sponsor trauma healing workshops using four church leaders in the area who have been trained in trauma healing and will provide assistance to build temporary worship shelters.
They need your urgent support for this work, both in prayer and financially.
